Children loved the bottle caps, as the plastic discs inside often held mystery prizes; and in times where toys were scarce, the bottle caps could also double as checker pieces. As soda glass bottles have been gradually replaced by aluminum cans, these creased, round copper plates have become a symbol of nostalgia.
